Notification that a 911 emergency call has been placed:

The ITS Alert can be set to dynamically monitor for any dialing sequence and generate an alert based on unique codes defined for other than 911 notification.

Applications:

 

  • Notification of dialed events (911 or other) as they occur with supporting information.
  • Notification to multiple people and sites

    g) Corporate headquarters from satellite locations  
  • Notification Direct to Public / Municipal emergency response entities
    a) Direct Connection using a dedicated network

  • For fully staffed sites, provides emergency notifications, that under the appropriate conditions with an approved implementation, could be an acceptable alternative to an Enhanced 911 (E911) implementation.
  • Alternative solution to Enhanced 911 (E911) in areas where the Enhanced 911 technology is not implemented or available.
  • An Enhancement to provide additional information to the appropriate staff when you do have Enhanced 911 available and implemented.
  • A solution for areas that do not have 911 technology implemented.
Advantages

 

  • Can use existing Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure
  • Can use existing PC's running Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
  • Alternative to placing an emergency call / emergency notification if telephone lines or telecommunication are disrupted.
  • Unlimited location information and descriptions can be provided
  • After a review and evaluation of the existing telephone system infrastructure, it is possible that the existing telephony equipment can be kept and interface to the ITS Notification System.
  • There is no requirement for PRI or CAMA trunks to pass E911 calls if the implementation designed for a specific company or application qualifies as an acceptable alternative to an Enhanced 911 implementation.
  • Database and telephone location information are under local control
  • An Alternative solution for localities or entities that lack the funding or size to cost justify an E911 call center
  • Other events that are not of a 911 emergency can be coded into the system and reported

a) report a fraudulent credit card, counterfeit money, bad check processing attempt
b) report a power failure
c) report a communication failure
d) report an internal problem (leaking pipe, sprinkler failure)
e) report a problem that does not require a 911 response

  • Self monitoring system (With the existing 911 and Enhanced 911there is no notification that a 911 call can not be made through the telephone network )
  • Backup methodology to report a 911 or E911 emergency (The existing 911 and E911 technology do not provide this fail-safe backup)
  • Call logging for internal use of 911, E911, and other monitored system activity.
